With another coronavirus lockdown imminent, we think that the country is in agreement - this is pretty rubbish. However, here at Bawden Tree Care, we feel it's important we consider all of our options.
We have studied the government's advice and guidelines with precision and care, and are pleased to announce that, at present, we will be remaining open and taking extensive precautions in order to ensure that we can operate safely.
If you're a hardcore Bawden Tree Care fan (which we're sure you are; look at us, we're the best arborists in town.) you'll know we posted a similar article to this back in March. However, we think it's important to run through exactly what we're doing to keep both our staff and customers safe throughout the lockdown commencing on the 5th of November, 2020.
1. All staff are in the process of being briefed and will be regularly reminded of precautions they should be taking.
Meetings are being arranged with all on-site staff to take place before Thursday 5th November when the lockdown commences. It is within these meetings that the following precautions will be clearly outlined, and anyone not taking said precautions seriously will face consequences, as a matter of health and safety. Posters reminding staff of these precautions are to be located around our work premises and within vehicles, too, so there's no excuse!
2. Regular hand-washing.
Water and soap is present in all vehicles within the Bawden Tree Care fleet; this is to ensure that all of our on-site staff can regularly wash their hands, no matter where they are.
3. Face coverings will be worn when appropriate.
Looking to have our tree care manager visit your premises in order to put together a quotation for you? No worries, things may be slightly different, however, than they were a few months ago. A face covering is to be worn by our tree care manager to ensure that you both keep safe. Face coverings are also worn by all of our staff at our base in Amesbury, and we politely ask that, if you wish to visit us, you do the same.
4. A contactless service is now being implemented.
In addition to the above precaution regarding face coverings, we are now implementing a contactless service. This means that our staff will avoid entering your property or speaking face-to-face with you in order to minimise contact, and therefore potential transmission. If, for whatever reason, you must speak with a member of the team, a minimum distance of 2 metres will be maintained at all times for the duration of the conversation.
5. We're upping the ante in terms of hygiene practices.
On top of the regular hand-washing, machinery is to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected at the end of each day to ensure transmission is minimised between staff. Vehicles will also be thoroughly cleaned at the end of each day for the same reason.
So, that's our lockdown 2.0 plan-of-action. As we all know, this situation is ever-changing, so we will continue to monitor the government guidelines to ensure we are operating strictly within these rules. If you have any questions or queries regarding Bawden Tree Care's operation over the lockdown period, please don't hesitate to call us on 01980 623015, drop us a message over on our Facebook page, or email us at info@bawdentreecare.co.uk.
One last thing - lockdown will be very different this time round with the early nights and rubbish weather; naturally, some people may find it a little more emotionally taxing that the lockdown back in March.
