Bawden Tree Care has invested in new Pear Technology Survey equipment as we expand the arboricultural survey side of the business.
For many years, we have been undertaking tree surveys across the South of England, primarily for the Ministry of Defence. Recently, however, we have expanded these services to local authorities, commercial planners and private landowners and estate managers. As a result of this expansion, the decision was made that further investment was due.
We were familiar with the Pear Technology System, the ease of use and overall efficiency; resultantly, we purchased the newest versions of the PT Mapper Pro and Pocket GIS software, as well as a new Trimble TDC100. The Trimble is a fantastic piece of kit that really improves the efficiency of surveying in the field, boasting a range of additional benefits and data capture options that enhance the amount of information that can be added to arboricultural survey reports.
With the new hardware and software in place and staff training completed, the company is now in a position to provide general tree management surveys and BS5837:2012 compliant arboricultural surveys to an ever-increasing range of customers. Our Tree Care Manager commented: "I am really looking forward to the wider range of opportunities this upgrade offers us; for a long time now we have been working with MoD clients, however, the added capability of this new kit will enable us to meet the needs of new customers. This will no doubt take the business forwards! In this respect, I welcome enquiries from customers old and new who wish to discuss tree survey and management plans."
