What Is an Ecological Survey?
This type of survey looks at the types of species residing in a specific area, and is often requested in conjunction with a BS5837 survey to help protect wildlife during construction. It is worth noting that you can request an ecological survey on its own - it doesn't have to be requested alongside a BS5837.
We work with a professional ecologist who undertakes the surveys to the highest possible standard.
The Process
Never requested an ecological survey before? Not sure how it works? It's not nice being in the dark about these things, so here's what you can expect.
Step 1 - Enquiry
You can get in touch a few ways: call us on 01980 623015, email us at info@bawdentreecare.co.uk, click the Facebook Messenger icon at the bottom-right of this page, or fill out the enquiry form at the bottom of this page. So many options! We do spoil you. Whichever way you choose to get in touch, our Tree Care Manager, Adam, will be there to help get the process started.
Step 2- Preparation
Next, we need all the information we can get about the site. In some cases, this might mean popping on over to visit the site prior to the survey, whilst in other cases, comprehensive, maps and images will do the trick. Don't worry, we'll keep you in the loop about everything we need.
Step 3 - The Survey
Now for the big moment! The surveyor will visit the site and complete the survey. This is usually completed from the ground, but sometimes an aerial inspection is required. Depending on access, you may or may not need to be present for the survey.
Step 4 - The Report
How soon you receive your tree report is dependent on factors such as the size of the survey. When you do receive the report, it will land directly in your email inbox. The wonders of technology! You will then be invoiced after receiving your report.
Catchment Area
We're based in Amesbury, nearby to Salisbury in Wiltshire, but we undertake ecological surveys in various counties across Central-South England:
